PRIDE'S DUTCH DIXIE #907314

Pride's Dutch Dixie was bred by Little America. Her dam was imported long ago to Belgium by Betty Sain.

A remark on the name of Pride's Dutch Dixie:

Dixie Allen Baker, the 4th dam of Shocker's Sweetheart, was chosen to give part of her name to Pride's Dutch Dixie. Dixie was the first TWH breeding stock born on Dutch soil and of course the first part of her name stems from her sire Pride of '76, a direct son of the illustrious Pride of Midnight H.F.

Dixie Allen Baker was a fine broodmare, among her get was Sun's Night Cap by Midnight Sun. In "Womack" we find written: "Talk of the Town had no easy night of it in defeating Sun's Night Cap in the gelding class." Talk of the Town was the TWH World Grand Champion in 1951, 1952 and 1953!

Apart from that, the find the name "Dutch" for a mare and "Little Dutch" for her daughter, in the early annals of the TWH breed, giving us a historical connection to use "Dutch" in the name of a Tennessee Walking Horse!
